Charity Overview
August 25th will mark the 5 year anniversary of
Hurricane Katrina. A natural disaster of epic proportions which
struck New Orleans and the surrounding Gulf Coast a devastating blow,
one from which the city is still recovering. Mark your calendars for a
National Day of Action and compassion August 25th.
New Orleans still
needs our help.
- Many residents of New Orleans have no home to return too.
- Many residents are slowly working to put their lives back together in the cities fragile economy, while rebuilding their homes, looking for work, and raising their families in FEMA trailers.
- Living in an inadequate or damaged home places, with little resources takes a heavy toll on a person’s emotional and social well-being.
Our Charity Partners
are grassroots nonprofits fighting the struggles of poverty,
displacement and despondency. We have handpicked charities that are
doing real work in the communities to aid the housing needs of many
residents, especially in the poorer neighborhoods. By providing
economically disadvantaged residents with resources and encouragement,
they are restoring a sense of community pride, repairing houses and
helping to facilitate emotional healing for a brighter New Orleans.

Personal Appeal
My Family is from New Orleans and I spent my summers there growing up. My childhood memories are those of culture, cotillions and cajun cooking, Gumbo and colorful houses, friendly neighbors, celebrations and never ending hospitality. All of that was washed away August 25th 2005. My Grandmothers home, My Uncles business, My Cousins School, My families way of life... Gone.
This year I needed to do something to make sure Aug 25th didnt go by in obscurity, to ensure we dont forget, our own brothers and sisters hurting right here in the US.
This isn’t just another event, this is a tribute to the resilient culture and unyeilding fighting spirit of New Orleans. I am digging deep to give back to a community near and dear to my heart. I hope you will come to the event and stand with me on this day.
Thank You in Advance!
